I have just learned the disturbing news that a remake is in the works for “Poltergeist.”

I assure you folks, there is NOTHING that can be done to this film to make it better.  This is a masterpiece, and so is “E.T.” and “Jaws,” and Spielberg, please keep these folks away from your beloved films (though  I didn’t like him CGI-ing the guns out of that scene in “E.T.,” so please Mr. Spielberg, keep these films away from yourself as well).

There are just some movies that should vaulted, and the scripts never touched by someone new.  “Goodfellas.”  “The Bad Seed.”  “It’s a Wonderful Life” (in black and white…as it should be).
