Diary of a Fangirl: Breaking Dawn Part 2

I’m trying to organize my thoughts on this, but I think I liked this film (a startling first when I think about the four that preceded it).  This was mainly due to Jacob.

I just watched the whole “saga” in the last week or so, and I feel drawn to Jacob’s story, not Bella’s.  His is mos def more interesting.  Part of me is tempted to write a fan fic called “The Book of Jacob.”
Cause I’m weird/bored, but whatever.

Jacob was the most interesting character in the series (who I admit, became hot in the last two films somehow.  I feel gross for saying that.  The dude is 20).  This film brought him more to the forefront cause of that whole imprinting the baby thing, but I think he should get his own story/film.  I think he’s a character worth exploring.

How I feel about my new-found Lautner crush :/

Note: I think Michelle Trachtenberg should play adult!Renessme.

The final fight scene was very well done.  This film has more action than the other films combined, or at least, it seems like it.

I’m at a particularly vulnerable place in my life, so I have no idea if my liking this movie is in due part to my specific state of mind.  But the fact remains, I did enjoy it.  And if I did, I know that any kinda sorta fan of Twilight will lose their minds over it.

Note #2: The CGI used on the baby was disturbing.  I get it–they wanted the kid to look like Kristen Stewart, but it wasn’t that serious, or worth creeping out the audience.

  1. I don’t have much to add to this, since I’ve only seen Twilight part one in its entirety and a bit of the second film. My kids love it, but I just…can’t…I just can’t. Eventually I’ll try again.

Taylor looks great in that photo you have posted, and I know what you mean about feeling icky when admitting he’s nice to look at. I’ve been that way about Justin Chatwin since ’05 and he’s “only” 6 years younger than me.

In any case, my daughter has the first Twilight book, I tried to read it, but couldn’t get past the first chapter. She has yet to read it and it was given to her by a relative, who also didn’t read it. It’s amazing what a machine this franchise has become.

  2. If you get back to the films, I’d rec starting with the last two. It really didn’t have to be five films…

And Justin Chatwin–he came to my old job once, and before that, he caught me falling asleep in the front row of SDCC during his panel for…that show he’s on with that guy who’s married to Felicity Huffman. Cute as a button. No idea how much older or younger he is than me though 😛

    • LMAO! You fell asleep in front of Justin Chatwin! *tisk tisk*

I could get really fangirl-ish about him. I find him another one of those intense Canadian types like the two Ryans. They have such a passion for film these Canadian actors and want to be taken seriously…so they are VERY serious, but not taken as seriously in Hollywood (if that makes sense). He bought the rights to this really good book a few years back by Michael Turner. It took me a while but I finally read it. Everything you could ever want to know about Mr. Chatwin, the actor, you’ll discover if you read that book and look at what he’s done careerwise (if we ignore Dragonball Z).

I could have sworn I saw him on the Fullerton bus here in Chicago one day. Like he was getting the feel for Chicago. I still think it was him, particularly since they shoot some of the scenes for Shameless near my neighborhood in Humboldt Park.
